A curious eye on themed decor
Giving your room a theme is one of the best ways to put the fun back into home decorating and letting our personality shine through.
We all like different things and therefore the possibilities are endless. I’m not really talking about using a particular style, such as retro or Japanese.
By giving your room a theme I mean choosing something you really love and makes you smile (and I mean anything!) and using that to inspire you during the planning of your themed room project.
I look forward to showing you different examples of how to achieve this, from movie and books inspired looks to animals and fashion items.

Animal themed home accessories
The inspiration for today’s post comes from having visited a friend’s house yesterday for the first time. She is a big cat lover and it was really nice to see this was reflected in her home decor – cat door stop, cat themed prints and various cat decorative items!
It was definitely very inspiring and I am considering buying a few flamingo and rabbit (my favourite animals!) items in the future.
I do admit some designs can look rather tacky but, just like anything else, the secret lies in choosing carefully and not overdoing it.
I also think that these themed home accessories could make great home gifts for animal lover friends.

Product information (clockwise from left to right): Owl cushion – £12.65, Elephant figurine – £16.99, Dog chopping board – £8.99, Frog doorstop – £6.95, Rabbit pepper & salt mills – £18.39, Cat poster – £3.04
By the way, has anyone else noticed that owl themed items (both in home decor and fashion) seem to be very on trend lately?
